The Robert Andrews Prize (final round): candidates must present a single work, or movement(s) from a work composed in the last hundred years by a composer from the Southern Hemisphere. The James de Villiers Prize (final round): a prize for the best performance of a Romantic work The Lionel Bowman Prize for Beethoven Playing (final round): This competition is open to all piano students at the SACM and the prize-winner's recital will take place in 2017. Admission is by donation at the door. Please note the early starting time for these competitions.

Simbi is a narrative performance that evokes the world of nature in a concert exploring Southern African vocal and instrumental music with masked dances, in the context of a technology-based sound/light spectacle. The production features the UCT Ibuyambo Orchestra.
