UCT offers a full range of postgraduate programmes in its six faculties: commerce, engineering & the built environment, health sciences, humanities, law and science. We are known for our innovative and cutting-edge research across a wide spectrum of issues that deeply affect our lives in Africa and the world today, and many our postgraduates are often at the heart of this research.

Many of our postgraduates are involved in interdisciplinary research, while others are probing deeply within specific and highly focused fields of interest. 

As Africa's top research-intensive university, UCT is home to many world-ranked researchers. This gives postgraduate researchers the opportunity to interact with scholars who are internationally recognised experts in their field.

Please note that postgraduates who are eligible for funding to support their studies at UCT may apply for funding. However, they must ensure that they have formally applied for an academic place at UCT in order to be considered for funding.
