Psychology Professor retires
Professor Johann Louw will be one of 120 retirees of the University of Cape Town in 2016. He joined the University on 1 January 1988 and worked in the Department of Psychology teaching several introductory courses in Psychology and at postgraduate level, focused on teaching Philosophical and Theoretical Issues in Psychology as well as Programme Evaluation of drug and alcohol prevention programmes; schools intervention programmes and information technology education. A prolific academic author, Professor Louw's particular research interests include the history of South African psychology, historical developments in psychological interventions and practices and asylum architecture. He retires from UCT on 31 December.
